Ujamma Boutique

Natasa Jones Interiors is honored to partner with Nia Imani Family, Inc. on their new project Ujamma.

Nia Imani Family, Inc. is a transitional housing facility that teaches young homeless mothers with histories of poverty and trauma the life skills needed to prepare them to live independently and create strong, nurturing families.

Founder and CEO Dr. Belinda Pittman has a vision to create a boutique clothing store that not only teaches Nia Imani residents work skills but also provides the surrounding community access to business professional attire at an affordable price.  Ujamaa can mean “cooperative economics”, in the sense of “local people cooperating with each other to provide for the essentials of living”, or “to build and maintain our own stores, shops, and other businesses and to profit from them together.”

Natasa Jones Interiors volunteered their time and resources to provide design inspiration for Ujamma. Take a look at the renderings for a sneak peek! Construction is under way and the grand opening is planned for late August/early September.

It has been such a joy to be part of this project and wanted to offer you an opportunity to help if you are so inspired.
